TEFLabs’ new sodium indicator, Asante Natrium, provides a low Kd, visible wavelength response to sodium ions.  With an excitation maximum near the 488 nm argon laser line Asante Natrium  shows a nearly five- fold increase in green emission upon saturating with sodium.  The Kd of 7 mM is comparable to that of SBFI, in contrast to previous visible wavelength indicators, such as CoroNA Red, whose higher kd makes them unattractive for most cell applications.

Samples will be available for testing in mid-May.
